Trinity Church – AWANA
AWANA is an acronym from 2 Timothy 2:15 — Approved Workers Are Not Ashamed
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
The Awana program introduces kids to biblical truths and helps to develop within them respect for God, His Son, and His Word. The age-based Awana curriculum ensures that kids have a knowledge of God’s Word and are able to apply His truth to their lives.
At Trinity Church, we want to reach kids with the gospel and disciple kids to walk with Christ for life. Awana is a fun approach to making the Bible alive and relevant with caring trained leaders who invest time, love, and wisdom into shaping children’s lives. This is accomplished through large group lesson time, Bible memorization and Awana handbook time, fun activities, and game time.
Four segments provide start to finish fun and learning in every club meeting:
Opening Time: Kids meet in the Worship Center at the beginning of each AWANA night to pray and say the pledges. It’s a time to focus on why we have AWANA, “to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.”
Handbook Time: Kids work one-on-one in small groups with a leader to recite verses they memorized. Leaders talk with children to ensure they understand key Bible verses that teach them how to know and follow God. Awards are given in recognition to children who have completed sections in their handbooks.
Council Time: Each club comes together to hear an age-appropriate Bible story to learn about character traits that honor God.
Game Time: Children learn teamwork and sportsmanship at game time in the AWANA Games Circle
